Rationale
AUK's aim is to bring together everyone in the UK whose research involves active galactic nuclei (AGN), even tangentially, to foster a community with a broad range of perspectives, and promote better communication and cross-pollination across sub-fields. As such, the focus of our meeting will be on collaboration and networking.
Do you have a resource (e.g. catalogue/code) or some new results that you think the broader community should know about? Are you working on a project and need input from someone with different expertise (e.g. a different wavelength/technique, observations vs simulations)? Do you want to broaden your horizons, know what exciting new science other AGN-ers are working on, make some useful contacts, perhaps even get inspiration for your own project? If so, this is the meeting for you!
Location
The meeting will take place at The Fielder Centre (University of Hertfordshire) on December 15th 2025.
Local Transport
Please note that the Fielder Centre is located in the Hatfield Business park, in the northeastern end of Hatfield, and away from both campuses of the University of Hertfordshire. There are several buses serving the area.
The 610 Dragonfly stops very close to the Fielder Centre, after a long, "scenic" route of Hatfield. It has stops at the train station, the Galleria, and both campuses. This might be the most convenient option if you want to minimise walking and have some time to spare.
The 602 and the 614 from the Hatfield train station both have a far more direct route, but you will have a 15-minute (0.7 miles) walk at the end.
If you wish to walk from the train station, it should take around 45 minutes. You can also take a taxi, which should only take 8-10 minutes.
If you are travelling by car, there will be free parking available for the day at the venue. No registration details are required.
